Cardiology is a medical specialty that includes the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the heart and blood vessels. Cardiologists manage patients for various problems such as chest pain, abnormal heart rhythms, high blood pressure, heart attacks, etc.
ENT (ears, nose, and throat), also known as otorhinolaryngology specializes in diseases of the ear, nose, and throat as well as diseases of the head and neck. They diagnose and provide medical therapy for patients with allergies, neoplasms, deformities, disorders/injuries of the ears, nose, sinuses, throat, respiratory system, etc.
Gastroenterology is a medical specialty that is concerned with the function and disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, including stomach, intestines, liver, and gallbladder. This specialty treats conditions such as abdominal pain, ulcers, diarrhea, cancer, jaundice, and performs colonoscopies (exam of the colon) and upper gastrointestinal endoscopies (exam of esophagus and stomach).
Nephrology is a medical specialty that includes the study, diagnosis, and treatment of medical diseases of the kidneys. They manage high blood pressure, fluid and mineral balance, and dialysis of body wastes when the kidneys do not function.
OBGYN is a medical specialty that includes the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of high-risk pregnancies, gynecology issues, infertility, annual exams, birth control and heavy bleeding.
Ophthalmology is a medical specialty that includes the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders and diseases of the eye. An Ophthalmologist manages conditions such as cataracts and glaucoma.
Podiatry is a medical specialty that includes diagnosing and/or treatment of injuries, diseases, and defects of the foot.
Urology is a medical specialty that includes the study, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the genitourinary tract. A urologist often manages urinary, bladder, and prostate problems.
Telemedicine is a consultative visit whereby specialty physicians can be seen via remote interactive video to assist in the treatment of patients while keeping services local.
